Watercolors on 300 g cold press
I was inspired to paint my own take on the Tarot cards. I have started with the High Priestess and the Empress.

I was inspired by Baba Yaga and her story. I tried to imagine what she was like before she became THE Baba Yaga. What did she give up and why? What kind of life did she have?
A drawing prompt, masquerade, was what inspired this illustration. Initially, the first thought was of masquerade balls (hello, Labryinth!) and all the mystery and intrigue that they held. But, I thought about how we all wear different masks daily. I wanted to the viewer to feel that magic and mystery as we make our daily choices.
This little downy puffball came to be by wandering the woods and a challenge given to me by my husband. The challenge was to create a character from his favorite book series; The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher.
This piece originally started as an art prompt, "haunted garden." I wanted to create something that would be considered creepy. As I started this, it was clear that this piece was going to take on more. With events taking place in Ukraine, I had reinterpreted the haunted garden from a spooky, creepy garden, to more of a large garden/farm that will forever be haunted due to the senselessness of all the lives lost - especially children.
The question “How does music make you feel,” was the inspiration for this piece. For me, music can make me feel a divide between my current reality and one that is fantastical. The woods don't seem to be anything out of the ordinary and the girl looks casual and relaxed. Only after a moment do you realize she has antlers and headphones and that maybe there is something more here.
